What do the Alpha and Beta Messages mean when I login to Dolphin 4?

When logging in to Dolphin 4 , you may see a message that says Alpha Release , or Beta Release .

To help clarify what the message means , we have given a short explanation below.

Alpha Message

This message indicates that the version of software you are running is an internal test version. This version of the software has undergone internal testing with the developers and is now with the Distributors for rigorous end to end testing and sign-off.

We strongly discourage our distributors from installing Alpha releases at clients, but sometimes it is necessary if the new release contains a fix that is absolutely critical to a particular client.

If you are seeing this message , then it should be under circumstances where this has been explained to you.

The message will not go away by itself, and there is no setting where you can turn it off. The only way that you can login without seeing this message is to upgrade to the next official release, as soon as the version is available.

BETA Message

This message indicates that the version of software you are running is release for selected client testing.

This version of the software has been signed off in the Alpha test phase , and is available as a pre-release for clients that want to work with the next release ahead of schedule.

Beta Software is still in testing , and as such , we do expect that minor issues may crop up , if this happens, you should let your Distributor know as soon as possible.

The message will not go away by itself, and there is no setting where you can turn it off. The only way to not have the message is to upgrade to the next official release, as soon as the version is available.
